We’re excited to announce the McCormick Music Lessons Kids Summer Band Camp is back by popular demand!
Since we filled up so quickly last year, we’ve now added more camp sessions to accommodate everyone. Camps take place Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at our music school in Costa Mesa, CA:
- Session 1: July 14th to July 18th
- Session 2: July 21st to July 25th
- Session 3: July 28th to August 1st
Summer Band Camp is a special program for kids ages 5 to 17 years old for the low price of $349 (this comes out to just $69/day for 5 days).

What Your Kids Will Learn At Band Camp
During this 5-day program, they will be broken up into small groups to learn multiple types of instruments (especially those they’ve never tried!) to help them figure out what they like most.
🎶 Monday – Kickoff & Connection
We start the week by getting to know each other with fun icebreakers and musical games. Campers explore music fundamentals and learn what to expect during this exciting journey.
🥁 Tuesday – Instrument Discovery
Time to explore! Kids rotate through drums, guitar, piano, and more to get hands-on experience with each. We introduce basic techniques and spark curiosity for what clicks.
🎸 Wednesday – Find Your Sound
By midweek, most students naturally gravitate toward one or two favorites. We help them choose their main instrument and double down on skills for their band debut.
🎤 Thursday – Band Practice & Prep
Campers dive deep into their instrument of choice, rehearse their band’s chosen song, pick a band name, and prepare for Friday’s big performance. Creativity meets collaboration!
🎉 Friday – The Big Show
Showtime! The day begins with prep and teamwork drills, followed by a live performance in front of friends and family. We wrap up the week with a pizza party and some serious proud-parent moments. (Tissues provided—we’ve seen more than a few happy tears.)

The best part? All Summer Camp students are invited to perform live on stage for their first-ever BAND SHOWCASE performance at SteelCraft on August 3rd at 2pm. While optional, this is an excellent opportunity to showcase their new skills in front of a crowd of over 150 fans (a.k.a. parents, friends, and other music lovers)!
